Birkey’s in Galesburg Announces New Store Manager

Dear Valued Customer,

There has been a lot of exciting news at Birkey’s in 2022. We are now a 100% employee-owned organization. This is an exciting step forward, ensuring us the ability to serve and support our customers’ needs for years to come.

Since the beginning of the year, there have been some internal changes made at Birkey’s in Galesburg too. As you may have heard, Birkey’s has promoted me to Store Manager, replacing Bill Shenaut. Bill has transitioned to a part-time sales position.

Bill said, “I have enjoyed my time at Birkey’s in Galesburg. I’ve been in this business for close to 40 years, and the last 15 years with Birkey’s. At the store, the crew is a family. We spend a lot of time together. It’s been a blessing to build many relationships with customers and employees who are now friends. As I take a step back, I’ll be attending more T-ball games and dance recitals with my granddaughter. I am confident Luke will take the store into the future and be successful.”

Now a little about me. I began my career in the parts department at Birkey’s in Galesburg in 2010. I transitioned to parts manager in 2012. Then in 2019, I became a Regional Parts and Service Administrator, covering the western-most stores for Birkey’s. Although I built strong relationships across the western locations over the past three years and I am glad to be back in my “home” location as Store Manager. I bring many years of experience and knowledge to this position and I’m looking forward to working with the talented team we have here at Birkey’s.

Most of all, I look forward to working with all our existing customers and welcoming new customers choosing Birkey’s for their equipment needs.
