Birkey’s in Macomb Announces New Store Manager

There has been a lot of exciting news at Birkey’s in the past 30 days. We are now a 100% employee-owned organization. This is an exciting step forward, ensuring us of the ability to serve and support our customers’ needs for years to come. 

There have been some internal changes made here in Macomb as well since the first of the year. As you may have heard, Birkey’s has promoted me to Store Manager, replacing Dave Berlet. Dave is transitioning to a full-time Ag sales position after serving as store manager/salesman here in Macomb since the branch opened in 2003. I look forward to having Dave as a key member of our sales team.

Dave said, “After being in this business for 45 years, 20 years with Birkey’s, and 19 managing the Macomb location, I decided to step back into an open sales position. I have enjoyed working with the customers, and employees, we have here at Macomb but decided to let the next generation take over. Eric and his team will do a great job, and I’m looking forward to being part of that team.”

Now a little bit about me. I started working for the Macomb branch of Birkey’s in 2009 as a Precision Specialist. I then transitioned to a sales position, also in Macomb. Next, I became the Regional Wholegoods Manager, covering the 8 western-most stores for Birkey’s. When Dave transitioned from Store Manager, I was excited to accept the position back here in Macomb. I bring many years of experience and knowledge to this position and am looking forward to working with all the employees. 

Since I’ve been in this area my whole life, many of you are familiar with me, either through Birkey’s or by knowing my family. But most of all, I look forward to working with all our existing customers and welcoming new customers who choose Birkey’s for their agricultural needs.
