Birkey’s in Prophetstown Announces New Store Manager

Birkey’s is proud to announce Jay Von Holten will be stepping into his new promotion as Store Manager for our Prophetstown location.

“I have been with Birkey’s since September of 2007, starting at Urbana in construction part-time, then going to Rantoul to intern over the summer,” Jay shares. “Then the fall of 2008, I worked part time at the agriculture side of our Urbana location. When I graduated from the University of Illinois in May of 2009, I started as Parts Manager at our Macomb store, and have been there until now.”

Jay’s first job was working for a dealership in Annawan. “The ‘iron bug’ bit me when I was working there and it grew into the career I now have today,” he says. “I have always enjoyed being around farm equipment and anything pertaining to it."

“I am most excited about the opportunity to lead such a wonderful group at Prophetstown and being back in my home area,” Jay says of his new position. “Having such good people in place allows everyone in the dealership to excel at their job and grow the business for the future.”
