First, I would like to thank every one of you. Without our valued customers, Birkey’s of Oakland would not be where it is today. Sincerely, I thank you. A lot of exciting news has taken place within the past 30 days at Birkey’s. We are now a 100% employee-owned organization. This is a tremendous step toward an exciting future for Birkey’s Farm Store. Birkey’s is growing and will continue to grow to help support our customers’ needs.

Now for the Oakland Store. If you have not already heard, we have made some internal changes here at the dealership. As of January 1st, I have been promoted to Store Manager here at Birkey’s in Oakland. I am excited about what the future holds not only for this store, but for the farmer as well. I started on November 5th, 2001 in shipping and receiving and have gradually worked my way through various positions within the store, most recently in sales. I was fortunate enough to be selected to take the reins at this great store.

The first of many hard decisions I had to make was who was going to replace me as a salesman. After much thought and careful consideration, I am proud to announce Dave Dye will cover my former territory and customers. Dave brings years of experience and knowledge to this position. He said, “I am looking forward to going out and seeing guys in the country face to face and seeing their operation. I am truly just excited about this new adventure and what the future holds in the Ag business.” I know Dave will grow into this position and do a great job! So please welcome Dave with open arms when he makes his rounds to introduce himself. He knows he has things to learn, but is looking forward to the challenge.

With that being said, you may be wondering who will fill the service manager’s position. It is a great pleasure for me to introduce Josh McIntyre as our new service manager. Josh started his journey as a tech for 11 years before transitioning to the Oakland store. He has been with Birkey’s since September 2013. He is excited about this new opportunity to lead the service department. Josh said, “I am looking forward to watching how this shop will grow with all the young talent we have here.” Josh has grown so much since he started his career with Birkey’s just over 8 years ago. I am excited to see what he brings to this new role in the service department.

I realize these changes have been numerous and quick, but I felt the need to make these changes sooner than later, especially since spring is around the corner. One thing, however, will not change: We here at Birkey’s in Oakland will strive to do our best in taking care of our valued customers! Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Jeremy East
